4 Days Rwenzori Mt Hike and Culture
Day 1 Arrival
You are warmly welcomed from the airport by a representative from Prime tours Uganda Transfer to Kampala
Continue journey en route Mountain Rwenzori National Park via Masaka- Mbarara highway. Stop over at Equator for photos. Head straight to Mbarara town. Lunch at restaurant of choice. Continue to the foothills of Mountain Rwenzori.
Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Margherita
Day 2 Transfer to Nyakalengija
Early morning transfer to Nyakalengija (1646m) where you will start your climb into the mountains. The hike takes you along the Mubuku River through the thick Equatorial vegetation before arriving at the Nabitaba Hut (2650m). Expect to see Blue monkeys. Dinner and overnight stay at Nyabitaba hut.
Total hiking time: 5-7 hrs. Ascent: 1200m
Day 3 Descend to starting point
Lunch at Divine restaurant in Kasese town. Visit Bulema cultural site. In the evening experience the local cuisine accompanied with entertainment from local dance groups. Overnight stay in homestead.
Day 4 Departure
Lastly enjoy views of the majestic mountains of the Moon as you leave for Kampala via Fort portal.
You are sure to sight the large tea plantations on the outskirts of Fort portal town as you tend towards Mubende where you make a stopover for refreshments.
Right after you will be headed to any location of your choice in the capital or back to the airport for an evening flight.
