11 DAYS BEST OF UGANDA

DAY 1  

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. You will be welcomed by representatives of Prime Tours Uganda.

Embark on journey to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary along Bombo road. Visit the White Rhinos, these are not found elsewhere. Proceed northwards and make a brief stopover at Karuma falls for photo shooting and watching the troops of baboons that come at the roadside.

Lunch in Kitgum town at Boma Hotel and continue on the way to Kidepo Valley National Park where you will have a guided nature walk. Overnight stay; Apoka Safari lodge

DAY 2

Early morning breakfast at 6:30am

Game drive where you expect to see large herds of buffalos, elephants, rhinos, giraffes. Chances are there also for seeing lions, leopards. Lunch at Apoka Safari lodge. Relax and cool off the sun’s heat as you swim in the swimming pool.

After you will be taken for African cultural safaris so you can know more about the way of life of the Karamojong.

Overnight stay; Apoka Safari lodge. Alternatively you could choose to camp at the visitor centre or sleep in bandas.

DAY 3

Early morning breakfast

Safari drive as you look out for various wild animals. Proceed to Kitgum town where you will have lunch at a restaurant of choice. Continue to Paraa Safari lodge in Murchison Falls National Park and take a little rest.

Go for the prior arranged boat cruise to the Albertine Delta.

Overnight stay; Luxury   Paraa Safari lodge, Midrange   Pakuba Safari lodge,    Budget   Yebo lodge

DAY 4

Early morning breakfast at 7:00am

Game drive; expect to see elephants, giraffes, kobs, antelopes, Jackson’s Heart Beast to name but a few.

Lunch at Paraa Safari Lodge

Prior arranged boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. Expect to see schools of hippos swimming in the water, Aquatic birds and the Nile crocodiles basking by the river. You will then be stunned by the breath-taking view of the magnificent water falls. These will leave you amazed by creation.

The boat will dock at the point where the hike to the top of the falls begins just a few meters from the ‘Devil’s Hatch’. The view of the water gashing forth through a narrow channel creating a misty environment will sweep you off your feet. Be sure to take photos to catch this flamboyant scene.

DAY 5

Early morning breakfast

Chimpanzee habituation experience. The whole day will be spent tracking chimpanzees and watching them go about their routine activities. You will have packed lunch while in the forest.

DAY 6

Start journey to Kibale National Park

Lunch in FortPortal town at Gardens restaurant

Continue via Kamwenge road and make brief stopover at Ndali craters to have a glance at the panoramic views. Arrive at Kanyanchu visitor centre where you will sign in for chimpanzee trekking.

Overnight stay at  Primate Lodge

DAY 7

Swamp walk at Magombe swamp in Bigodi village where you expect to see various birds like Great blue turaco, Breasted pitta among others. A few monkeys that cross over from Kibale forest can be spotted.

Embark on journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival at the park you will be taken for guided game drive through the Kasenyi plains. Here it is amazing that chances of seeing lions are often high.

Lunch Park View Safari Lodge

Boat cruise on Kazinga channel that was prior booked. Expect to see schools of hippos swimming in the waters and other game by the shores.

DAY 8

Head on to Ishasha region, the most remote section of the park. Expect to see the famous tree climbing lions, large herds of elephants and Buffalos scattered among the savannah grasslands.

Lunch at Engiri game lodge

Afternoon chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge. Also watch out for birds as you make your way into the nearby Maramagambo forest.

DAY 9

Journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Lunch in Kabale at restaurant of choice

Check in at Buhoma community lodge, freshen up and go for a guided nature walk and Batwa trail experience.

DAY 10

Gorilla trekking experience. Once gorilla group is located spend an hour with these large apes, the mountain gorillas.

DAY 11

Journey back to Kampala

You will be dropped at choice location in the city or at the airport for evening flight.
